Korg Monotribe
Korg has released pictures of a new product called the “korg Monotribe”. Based on the name, it sounds like some sort of cross-breeding of the Korg Monotron and Korg Electribe. The picture seems to confirm this:
Information is sketchy, but it looks like it’s got some drum functionality (synth, kick, box, hi-hat) , a sequencer and some other functions. An analogue Monotron with a sequencer and selectable waveforms? EXACTLY what I was wishing they would start making, but assumed they never would. Nice work, Korg. It doesn’t appear to have MIDI, but does have a sync jack.
The Monotribe is to be presented at Musikmesse this week, here’s hoping for a review unit. I really hope this isn’t some sort of April Fool’s joke.

Hey, i was at musikmesse frankfurt this week and tried out the new monotribe. it defenitly is a great portable analog synth ..i like the inluded drum computer .. just awesome for some outdoor sessions
I just found a german monotribe review which says that the monotribe is available in europe in sep 2011 And the litte analoge synth already can be pre ordered for 200,- euros.
Best regards to you guys ,
Silvie:)
I’m really liking the look of this it’s just what I’ve been looking for. It’s got the ease of use of the monotron but with multi channels
It’s a nice little toy. I own the Monotron which is cool and cheap. But this is going to be a little expensive…
as many cool controls as this thing has, i cannot believe they did not at LEAST add a REAL keyboard! even if it was mini casio style keys. especially due to the price! the ribbon keyboard is a little lame. does anyone know if there is a way to add REAL keys to the ribbon??!
this + midi in = must. have.
I want one. Period
