Korg Monotron contest winners

Submitted by on July 11, 2010 – 7:27 pm 3 Comments

Two months ago, we decided to celebrate our birthday by giving away a free Korg Monotron to one lucky SynthGear Reader. For the contest, we asked for ideas for the site, logo ideas, products ideas, and just about anything else.

As it turns out, we had a phenomenal amount of response, some fantastic ideas and logo submissions, and some really interesting feedback on the site in general. It took a while to go through everything, and in the end I couldn’t decide between two great submissions, so I picked them both!

Yes, I decided to give away two Monotrons. One Monotron is going to to William Kurniadi, who submitted a great logo & t-shirt designs. One of the logos that William submitted is now gracing the top of SynthGear.com!

The other Monotron goes to Shannon Smith, who had the idea of creating web versions of synths, and branding them with the SynthGear name. These would be embeddable, and could be added to any website, not just SynthGear. Shannon got us started with a web-version of a Korg Monotron (how appropriate is that?) that we’ll put up shortly. Way too cool. You should definitely check out Shannon’s other web synths at AngryOctopus.

Congratulations to Shannon and to William. I hope you enjoy your Monotrons!
