Remix the washing machine drummer and win Ableton Live
OK, I was just so infatuated with the washing machine drums video, that it would be criminal not to remix those drums into a song.
So we’re going to have a remix contest! Ableton has generously offered a free copy of Ableton live 8 (download) for the contest.

The remix contest
If you are interested in entering the contest, the first thing to do is to leave a comment on this post, making sure to enter your email address (which remain hidden). We’ll use this email address to inform you of contest updates.
The rules
1. You must feature the washing machine sample in some form in your song.
2. To enter, please leave your song in our dropbox, and leave another comment below stating that you have done so – don’t forget to include the name of the song!
3. You must send us your track prior to September 30, 2010.
4. Judging will be done by a combination of reader input and Final selection by SynthGear.

Have already been playing around with it for a couple of weeks.
Just need to be disciplined and stop changing my mind every over minute
I’ve got live lite ’5.2′ it’s just a bit limiting (max 4 audio & 4 MIDI scenes).
A mate told me about plugins and I found synthgear.com while looking VST synth info (top site btw). Maybe i can make my first track/remix/anything with this audio grab.
Reading previous posts I guess you’ll send me the T&C’s
Are there any limitations or guidelines?
Does the sample need to be recognisable?
Can i use samples from commercially release tracks -copyright(ed) stuff?
I think I’ve the got the hook (not the part about rape), though it does make me think of Antoine Dodson – Bed Invaded. Only discovered him last week. Pretty funny and DAM catchy (“what tune are you humming?” “oh just this song about attempted rape” “hahaha” -slightly wrong). Wish i knew how to pitch bend i’ll check out auto-tune.
Now I just need a melody, some chords, a bassline and some creative ‘wish-wash’

For this track, i used my kitchen as an instrument… My microwave bell, spoons, glasses,my mixer and a lot of acoustic sounds that i can find. I wanted to use acoustic sounds to keep this feeling when you ear music anywhere like this washing machine…
