Lego sequencer

Yoshi Akai is an artist, musician and instrument designer from Tokyo, Japan. Yoshi has been producing DIY musical instruments with very unique input systems as works of art, and using them in performances.

The work below takes the idea of LEGO synths on step farther – Yoshi has created a complete 8-step, 3 channel LEGO sequencer that actually works.

The idea is that you take LEGO pieces, and place them on the sequencer grid corresponding to where you want the sound be be in the loop. Check it out in action:
