Lego Synths

Beem is Electronic Music Producer Skweee from Stockholm, Sweden. Beem has created these absolutely amazing Lego creations inspired by vintage synthesizers, drum machines and recording equipment. When I saw these, the synth geek inside me totally freaked out.

A Fender Rhodes 12 and a Revox B77:

All of these images are part of the cover art for their downloadable CD release, The Future. Here is a Linn 9000 Drum Machine patched into a Revox B77 sitting beside a Roland SH1000:

This one is a Juno 2 with the alpha dialwith patch cords, a Roland SH1000, a Mac SE and a Revox B77:

This image is an Arp Odyssey beside a Linn 9000 drum machine.

And finally this one is a Roland SH1000, a Linn 9000 Drum Machine and a uniquely semimodular Prophet 5 (which would be my dream synth!).

The album “The Future” is definitely reccomended and is downloadable (legally) as mp3′s for free right here, or here as a torrent.

I’ll quote from the liner notes just so you know what you might be getting into:

A late add to the album credits; “Don’t Bogart That Can, Man” is entirely made of sounds from soda cans.

Nice.

Now, I have to try this. I guess this kit would probably have all those pieces. Too bad they don’t offer a “vintage synths” kit! You can find out more about Beem right here.
