I believe this qualifies as an instrument about as much as my baby-head theremin or a thing-a ma boop (however it is spelled) and so on...meaning not so much an instrument as it is a unique noise-maker.

Crazy control surface? Yes.

Actual musical value? Eh. I think in the world of synthesis people way too often mix up the lines of noise and actual music.

Either way it sure is crazy looking. And I agree, it would be great fun for a kid.
