In these 2 videos, Thomas P Heckman shows off his amazing collection of gear, in what he calls the “Synth Museum”. I’m not sure if it’s so much a museum, because he actually plays these synths… and he plays them well.

Thomas has been collecting synths since around 1983, and has obviously amassed an enviable collection. Just for fun, here are some pictures of his studio from it’s humble beginnings:

First, his studio in 1983, where it looks like the only “synth” is a Casio VL-tone:

and in 1985, it looks like his studio started off much like mine, a Korg Poly 800 and a Roland DR110:

then things get a bit more interesting in 1993:

…and it looks like between 1993 and 1994 (when this picture was taken), he went on a major shopping spree after some fairly successful releases with Force, Inc.:
