The Acid Symphony Orchestra

Submitted by on October 13, 2009 – 9:14 pm One Comment

The Acid Symphony Orchestra is the brainchild of Jori Hulkkonen. Imagine 10 Roland TB-303′s one Roland TR-707 drum machine, and one Roland TR-808 drum machine. All wonderfully in sync, all tweaked by members of the band – ‘conducted’ by Jori – it’s a techno producer’s wet dream.

The Orchestra is:

    • Juha Matinmäki
    • Aku “Huoratron” Raski
    • Kalle Karvanen
    • Jussi-Pekka “Monoder” Parikka
    • Janne “Burdock” Puurunen
    • Tatu “Mr Velcro Fastener” Peltonen
    • Kimmo “Acid Kings” Oksanen
    • Pete “Sintetik” Salonen
    • Tuomas Toivonen
    • Johannes “TinMan” Auvinen

Here’s Their official music video for Acid Symphony Orchestra’s Diamonds Of The Night, taken from the forthcoming Acid Symphony Orchestra 12″ on Turbo recordings:

So wait a minute. This guy can afford TEN 303s & an 808, but opts for a TR-707 instead of a TR-909? MADNESS! ;-)

I am actually amazed he was able to keep it from sounding like pure chaos. I think he is mixing one or a few up front and the others out, or way back in the mix.
